The Design weekend at Tatton Park

Well it’s all over, the organisation, preparation, and excitement that we seem to have to go through before an exhibition.
It’s a bit like gambling, you never know if its going to be worth all the effort, are you in the right place? Will enough people visit? Will the right kind of people visit? Time will tell!!
It was our first time at Tatton Park which is in a beautiful National Trust setting; we were very excited to be invited to exhibit our brand new designs to the well heeled Cheshire Set and lovers of interior design and originality at the Design weekend.
Tatton Park in Cheshire was hosting “Design-et-Al’s” Home and Garden show in partnership with “Pure Cheshire” magazine.
The best part of the weekend was staying at Tattondale farm B&B which is on the grounds of Tatton Park. A great welcome on arrival, very cosy and lovely breakfasts! It was great, after a day spent on your feet, to wander back to the farmhouse and collapse on the big plumptious bed.
The landlady (who is fabulous) who seems to thrive in relaxed attitude and gentle chaos had bought a puppy for her daughter, a gorgeous golden retriever, we thought he was gorgeous probably because we were upstairs and couldn’t hear his whimpering all night!!
After coming back to city life, I’m really looking forward to the Women’s business and blogging conference at Leicester University www.nlabwomen.com on June 8th so I can learn to write cracking blogs full of interesting tips and tales of creativity!! I mustn’t forget to network, networking always seems like a dirty word! Meeting new people and taking an interest seems more manageable, I know it’s the same thing technically; I just start trembling at the thought of business breakfasts and the chamber of commerce.
Practice does make perfect and learning to be brave by talking to people creates all sorts of opportunities. They say that you are only 5 people away from someone you know. So my challenge at the conference is to hold my own and talk to at least 5 new people and exchange details, piece of cake huh!
